Baseline Analysis

We begin with a preliminary meeting with the school management where our education specialist explains how a current-state analysis is conducted and what the school can gain from the results. The actual analysis involves conducting interviews with the school management, educators, and pupils. We are interested in understanding how the school uses its digital devices and systems, with a focus on the student. The day the interviews are conducted starts with the education specialist first meeting the principal and then meeting with educators and pupils separately according to the different stages of the school. The day ends with a meeting with the school management again to ensure alignment and possibly ask some additional questions.

Baseline Analysis

Report

Once the interviews are completed, the education specialist creates a report that is then used in the feedback to the school management. The report focuses on vision, culture, skills, teams, school community and measurement and is based on the book ‘Essential Elements of Leadership’. In the report, I have identified areas that we know are important for a school to succeed in working with digital devices and there are also actions for the school to develop.

Many questions are about how the school management is working to lead digitalisation, the questions to educators and students concern creativity and daily use. We also talk about the teaching flow between teacher and pupil linked to information, feedback and user-friendliness.
